about
"A compound present in the body as a neurotransmitter and a precursor of other substances including adrenaline."
This song is inspired by times where humans seem to fall, inevitably, into the traps presented by addictive behaviours. The mime represents an emotional disconnect between people who end up consumed by modern life; content to censor themselves and present a fabricated reality to their peers.
We exploit our own biology in ever-more inventive ways. In particular, a struggle with the addictive aspects of social media is presented in this song as a way of escaping the mundane.
lyrics
Try to find my way,
trapped inside four walls,
long hours- low pay.
But I find myself in the secrets I keep,
So close yet just out of reach.
I find myself in the family I keep,
Shout loud but they can't hear me.
Chorus:
And every smile I fake,
How it always feels the same,
And every pill I take,
To spike my dopamine.
A life, a love, a dream, a kiss,
A complicated simpleness,
A darkness that I found in friends.
Chorus:
A way to infiltrate,
When you can't excuse the pain,
And then I lose my sane,
To spike my dopamine.
I swear I'll never let you go...
